24th March 2023<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Had this top notch Van Nicholas titanium road bike in for a general service..<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On my initial inspection it looked to be a well sorted bike requiring little attention but a closer look revealed a couple things out..<\/p>\n\n\n\n

* First the chain was incorrectly threaded through the rear mech (there’s a small metal tab between the jockey wheels and on this bike the chain was fed the wrong way and rubbing on this tab)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

* <\/a>Secondly the handlebar stem was barely done up (finger tight bolts \"?\")<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On any bike I work on I inspect every moving\/non-moving part for wear\/tear and see if the bike works how it was supposed to from the off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bike now sorted and returned to a happy customer<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1st March 2023<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

New (press fit) bottom bracket fitted to a Vitus Rapide 29er MTB..with the right tools this is a delight!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s a weird one as the bike is pre fitted with pf30-24mm adapters (in order to accommodate a shimano hollowtech II bb).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But a big thanks to @wychbearings for speedily supplying some suitable 25x37x7 bearings!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Job <\/a>done and back out on the trails<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Took the mountain bikes north of Hindhead this morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While the mud’n sludge has taken a brief hiatus it looks like its handed the baton to the cold weather gods!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Great xc explore around Thursley Common & Elsted this morning.. 11 cold digits<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lovely looking Lynskey road bike in for rear gear issues – culprit was the rear mech cage had seized restricting full movement while shifting from top to bottom gears.. Now unseized plus new cables fitted and jobs a good’n..<\/p>\n\n\n\n
